DONATE TO SUPPORT THE WINTER'S TALE
HOW MUCH SHOULD I DONATE?
While no donation amount is too small (or too large) here are some suggestions for how to calculate the right amount for you:
  • A typical PAC Play Ticket costs $12, so consider donating $12 for each person you're watching with.
  • The play has 26 Actors + 50 Tech Crew, so consider donating $1 for each actor ($26), $1 for each Crew member ($50) or $1 for every student involved in the show ($76).
  • It's been 125 weeks since our LAST Shakespeare Show (Two Gentlemen of Verona in 2018) so consider donating $1 for every week ($125).
  • 100% of your donation goes to supplies and equipment for PAC shows, so consider donating as generously as you can. Any money we make above and beyond the cost of producing this show will go towards the cost of future productions, help fund new equipment purchases, pay for special programs/workshops and continue providing students a high-quality theater education.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Picture
Picture
The Winter’s Tale is part drama, part comedy, part tragedy, part romance, part mystery. It tells the story of King Leontes of Sicilia who suspects his wife, Hermioine, is having an affair with his best friend, King Polixenes of Bohemia. Leontes goes mad with jealousy: he has Hermione imprisoned, attempts to murder Polixenes and has Hermione’s child (who he believes is not his) abandoned in a far off wilderness. The play then jumps forward in time 16 years, where the abandoned child, Perdita reappears, having been raised by a Bohemian Shepherd, with no knowledge of her true parentage.

The Winter's Tale takes the spot of our traditional Fall Play. Giving students a chance to alternate exploring classic works with contemporary plays, the focus is on building acting skills, empowering students to take ownership of the technical theater process and of course creating community while making art.
