COVID POLICIES AND AUDIENCE GUIDELINES FOR PERFORMANCE:
- All audience members (regardless of vaccination status) are required to be masked. This includes the lobby, theaters and bathrooms.
- The size of our Black Box Theater means that there is not a guarantee of distancing for audience members. We encourage family units to sit together, and if a show is not sold out leave a space between their group and other groups. At sold out shows, audience members will be seated directly adjacent to other groups.
- Performers will be unmasked onstage for the performance. All unmasked performers are fully vaccinated, and the cast/crew is always masked when not on stage.
- Anyone experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 should not attend performances. You can reference the BPS Symptom Checker here.
ABOUT THE SHOW |
The Servant of Two Masters is an Italian Commedia Dell'Arte Play. Originally written in the 1700s, the BHS production is anything but 18th century. Using a modern script adaptation, we've taken this physical comedy into the present day with bright colors, wild costumes, a bright set, physical comedy, wordplay, music, slapstick gags and a madcap plot that will leave your head spinning.
The plot of the play revolves around a well-meaning but often misguided servant, Truffaldino, who has recently started working for Beatrice Rasponi as she travels to Venice in disguise, searching for her fiancé, Florindo. Through a series of mistaken identities and mishaps, Truffaldino ends up secretly employed by Florindo. As Beatrice and Florindo find themselves entangled in the romantic goings on of the citizens of Venice, Truffaldino tries to serve both his masters without anyone finding out. |
The Servant of Two Masters is produced by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
